
Luang Phor Derm of Wat Nong Pho, also known as “Phra Khru Niwas Thammakhun” or “Luang Phor Derm Phutthasaro,” was revered as the “Deity of Si Khwae City.” His birth name was Derm Phumanī, and he was born on February 6, 1860 (B.E. 2403), which fell on a Wednesday, the 11th waning moon of the 3rd lunar month, in Ban Nong Pho. Upon reaching the appropriate age for ordination, he entered the Buddhist monkhood at Wat Khao Kaeo, Phayuha Khiri District, Nakhon Sawan Province, on Sunday, October 31, 1880 (B.E. 2423).
Biography
Luang Phor Derm Phutthasaro, or Phra Khru Niwas Thammakhun, was the former abbot of Wat Nong Pho. He was born on February 6, 1861 (B.E. 2404), during the reign of King Rama IV (King Mongkut).
Ordination
He was ordained at Wat Khao Kaeo, Phayuha Khiri District, Nakhon Sawan Province, on October 31, 1880 (B.E. 2423), during the reign of King Rama V (King Chulalongkorn). His preceptor was Luang Phor Kaeo of Wat Intharam (Wat Nai), with Luang Phor Ngoen (Phra Khru Phayuhanusasak) of Wat Phra Prang Lueang as his teacher in monastic discipline, and Luang Phor Thet of Wat Sra Thale as his mentor in monastic precepts. His ordained name was “Phutthasaro.”
After Ordination
Luang Phor Derm studied Buddhist scriptures under Luang Ta Chom at Wat Nong Pho. He also studied Buddhist doctrine and mystical sciences with Mr. Phan Chupan, a highly respected scholar of Nong Pho. In addition, he trained in monastic discipline and mystical knowledge under many esteemed Buddhist masters.

- Luang Phor Kham of Wat Khao Kaeo, from whom he learned the art of crafting and empowering the Meed Mor. Luang Phor Derm later became a highly skilled master of Meed Mor, earning great fame for his expertise.
It is said that his studies in scriptures, magical incantations, Vipassana meditation, and crafting of sacred objects spanned a total of 12 years after his ordination. His vast knowledge and spiritual power made him deeply respected and loved by the people of Nong Pho.
