Luang Por Doon, a highly respected Buddhist monk in Thailand, is celebrated for his profound wisdom, compassion, and spiritual guidance. As one of the Great Arya Sangha Ascended Masters, he is revered as a spiritual leader and teacher by many Thai Buddhists. Born as the second child in a family of four, Luang Phu Doon pursued a career in the theatre before dedicating his life to Buddhism. Despite his passion for the spiritual path, his parents initially refused his requests to ordain, fearing for the family’s welfare. However, after years of persistence, they finally relented, and Luang Phu Doon was ordained at the age of 22 in the year 2453 BE at Wat Jumpol Sutawas, Surin. His ordination was a significant event, officiated by Pra Kroo Wimon Silaprodt, who served as his Upachaya ordaining officer. Tan Pra Kroo Beuk took on the role of Pra Gama Wājājārn, while Pra Kroo Rit assumed the position of Anusāwanājārn. Luang Phu Doon was given the Sangha name ‘Udtalō’, signifying ‘Incomparable to Others’, and became known as ‘Pra Luang Phu Doon Udtalō Bhikkhu’.
