Ajahn Chah, a renowned Thai Buddhist monk, passed away on January 16, 1992. He was a highly influential teacher of the Buddha-Dhamma and the founder of two prominent monasteries in the Thai Forest Tradition. His teachings have been widely recognized and respected, not only in his native Thailand but also in the West, where he played a significant role in establishing Theravada Buddhism. His legacy includes numerous dhamma talks, students, and monasteries, and his funeral in 1993 was attended by over one million people, including members of the Thai royal family.
