Born in Thailand in 1939, he was ordained as a Buddhist monk at the age of 20 and studied under the guidance of Ajahn Chah Brahm, a highly respected meditation teacher. Ajahn Chah Subbhatto was known for his profound wisdom, compassion, and ability to communicate complex Buddhist teachings in a clear and accessible way. He was also a skilled meditation teacher and was instrumental in establishing the Thai Forest Tradition in the West. Despite his passing in 2017, his teachings and legacy continue to inspire and guide many Buddhist practitioners around the world.
